Engineering Program Manager – Advanced Aerospace Systems

About the Business
Our client is a rapidly growing space-tech start-up building next-generation spacecraft designed for on-orbit servicing, maintenance, and protection of critical satellite infrastructure. Their mission is to enhance the resilience and sustainability of space operations for both commercial and government partners through innovation in spacecraft manufacturing and operational readiness.

About the Role
As the Engineering Program Manager, you’ll play a central role in ensuring predictable delivery and operational excellence across a multidisciplinary engineering organisation. This position focuses on orchestrating build schedules, scaling processes, and maintaining delivery momentum in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule & Resource Management – Maintain the master engineering schedule, coordinate cross-functional resources, and manage milestone planning.

  • Financial Oversight – Track budgets, forecast spend, and align procurement with program priorities.

  • Supply Chain & Logistics – Manage vendor relationships, hardware procurement, and integration test planning.

  • Build Process & Methodology – Drive iterative build cycles, supporting rapid integration and continuous improvement.

  • Program Governance – Identify and manage program risks, ensuring deliverables meet technical and mission requirements.

  • Continuous Improvement – Gather build metrics, lessons learned, and capability data to guide strategic decisions.

  • Stakeholder Management – Coordinate with suppliers, partners, and customer engineering teams to resolve issues quickly and maintain transparency.

About You

You bring a builder’s mindset, thrive in a hands-on environment, and are comfortable working with emerging technology and rapid development cycles. You’ll excel here if you enjoy building systems from concept to launch and collaborating across disciplines.

You’ll ideally have:

  • 5+ years in engineering program management, operations, or systems engineering

  • Experience managing complex hardware programs with cross-functional teams

  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in space systems, aerospace, or complex hardware development

  • Exposure to start-ups or environments with fast build-test-iterate cycles

The Offer

  • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)

  • Meaningful equity participation

  • Annual and personal leave entitlements

  • An opportunity to help shape the direction of an emerging space-tech leader

If you’re passionate about working at the frontier of technology and want to see your impact in orbit, we’d love to hear from you.
