With continued growth across Australia and New Zealand, the business is seeking skilled Electrical & Electronic Field Service Engineers to support installation, repair, and maintenance activities for their Checkpoint and Trace product lines.

About the Role

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for ensuring that all service sites meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality standards. This includes installation, commissioning, and ongoing technical support for detection and screening systems.

You’ll perform preventative and reactive maintenance, electrical/electronic fault-finding, and component-level repairs, as well as support operator training and site surveys. The position involves local and interstate travel and participation in an on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair the company’s full range of Checkpoint & Trace systems

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic components and assemblies

• Provide after-hours standby support as part of an established service rotation

• Deliver basic operator or technical training to customer personnel when required

• Conduct site surveys and provide technical guidance prior to installations

• Complete all internal and customer reporting requirements accurately and on time

• Ensure all work complies with company QA, safety, and environmental standards

• Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company professionally onsite

• Travel within Australia and New Zealand as required

About You

You’re a hands-on, technically capable engineer with a strong background in electrical or electronic systems and a proven ability to deliver high-quality service and support in field environments. You take ownership of your work and pride yourself on professional, customer-focused delivery.

You’ll bring:

• Minimum 2+ years in a similar field service or maintenance engineering role

• Electrical, electronic, or mechatronic trade or degree qualifications

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability in electronic and control systems

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications and PC-based diagnostic tools

• Willingness to participate in an on-call roster and occasional after-hours work

• Current driver’s licence and ability to travel

Highly regarded:

• Experience with detection, inspection, or screening systems

• Knowledge of networking, control systems, or computer hardware integration

• Familiarity with QA, HSE, or regulated site compliance requirements
