Security Architect (12-Month Fixed term contract)

We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure IT architectures across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments.
This is a key role within an organisation undergoing exciting transformation, where you’ll work closely with IT leaders, security teams, and business stakeholders to strengthen risk management and ensure compliance with security frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cyber Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity and operational risks across digital platforms.

• Governance & Compliance: Align security practices with recognised frameworks such as SCF, NIST, and ISO 27001.

• Security Architecture Design: Develop secure architecture solutions that meet both current and future business needs.

• Controls Assessment & Assurance: Assess and enhance existing security controls, designing improvements to close any identified gaps.

• Identity & Access Management: Architect secure identity, access, and governance solutions, including privileged access management (PAM) and third-party access controls.

• Data Protection: Implement strategies for secure data loss prevention (DLP) and sensitive data governance.

• Network Security: Design and implement secure network architectures, including segmentation, micro-segmentation, and SASE/SSE solutions.

• Cloud Security & DevSecOps: Establish cloud security best practices and integrate security controls into DevOps pipelines.

• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design resilient disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.

• Technical Debt Oversight: Conduct regular technical debt reviews to ensure technology risks are identified and managed.

About You:

• Proven experience in security architecture, ideally within large, complex IT environments.

• Strong background in cloud security, identity management, and data protection.

• Familiarity with major security frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.

• Strong technical knowledge across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure (Azure experience highly desirable).

• Strategic thinker with hands-on technical skills and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
