Senior C++ Developer / Lead –  IOT 

Sydney | Hybrid (2 days onsite, Chatswood)

An exciting opportunity for a Senior C++ Developer / Technical Lead to join a global audio technology company building the next generation of networked and IoT-connected software platforms used in smart consumer electronics.

This position suits someone passionate about modern C++ (C++11/14/17), embedded Linux development, and leading small, highly skilled software teams.

The Role

You’ll lead a team of 3–5 software developers responsible for designing and maintaining a scalable IoT platform that powers networked devices globally.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position — around 50% development, 50% team and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of developers in an agile environment

  • Plan development activities and track progress across sprints

  • Design, develop, and maintain the IoT platform for connected audio products

  • Analyse new product requirements and translate them into software features

  • Collaborate with international teams (Japan, UK, US)

  • Drive best practices in CI/CD and embedded software processes

Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of professional software development

  • 4+ years of modern C++ (11/14/17)

  • 3+ years in a Linux development environment

  • Proven team or technical leadership experience

Bonus Skills

  • Embedded Linux (middleware, POSIX APIs)

  • GStreamer / audio frameworks

  • Asynchronous frameworks (Boost Asio)

  • Networking (TCP/UDP, multicast/unicast)

  • Debugging on embedded Linux (GDB, Valgrind)
