Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer - HVAC

The Opportunity

Are you a Design Engineer who thrives on technical complexity?
We are looking for a specialist to join a high-performing in-house design team.

This role is focused on "zero-fail" environments such as Hospitals, Labs, and Data Centres where your engineering precision directly impacts the functionality of critical infrastructure.

The Role

Based in Melbourne, you will be responsible for the full design lifecycle of complex mechanical systems.
You will bridge the gap between theoretical design and practical contracting reality, ensuring all systems are compliant, efficient, and buildable.

What you bring

• Sector Expertise: Specific experience in HVAC design for Hospitals, Laboratories, Data Centres or similar.

• Technical Rigour: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and deep familiarity with Australian Standards (AS1668, AS3666, etc.).

• Contracting Mindset: Previous experience within an HVAC contracting environment is a major advantage.

• Collaboration: The ability to work seamlessly with BIM managers and project delivery teams to ensure design integrity.
