The Opportunity

Due to significant project wins and organic growth, one of Australia’s most respected mechanical services specialists is seeking two high-caliber Mechanical Design Engineers to join their 17-person Melbourne engineering team.

We are looking for one Lead and one Senior engineer (approx. 7+ years experience) who thrive on the "pure engineering" side of the business. These roles are technically focused, allowing you to drive efficiencies and solve complex problems without being bogged down in Revit modeling.

The Role

Working within a flat, approachable structure, you will be responsible for the technical integrity of major mechanical packages. Your day-to-day will focus on:

• Engineering Excellence: Performing complex heat load and pipe sizing calculations using Camel and Excel.

• Design Optimization: Identifying opportunities to improve system performance, save time, and reduce costs.

• Technical Liaison: Creating high-level markups for a dedicated drafting team and assisting them with technical hurdles.

• Stakeholder Management: Coordinating with Project Managers on deliverables and consulting with external suppliers for specialized equipment.

• Mentorship: (Lead level) Providing technical guidance to junior engineers, acting as a subject matter expert.

What You Bring

• Project Pedigree: Significant experience delivering Tier 1 Australian projects ($20M+ mechanical scope) in sectors such as Data Centres, Hospitals, or Government Laboratories.

• Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Camel, AutoCAD CC, and Bluebeam/PDF markup tools. (Revit skills are not required).

• Communication: A "team-first" attitude with the ability to articulate complex engineering queries to both internal teams and external suppliers.

• Local Expertise: Deep knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC Section J.

• Compliance: You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (no sponsorship available).
