Field Service Engineer (Electrical/Electronic) - NSW

Our client is a well-established technology organisation that designs, installs, and supports specialised electronic systems used across high-security, industrial, and critical infrastructure environments. Their equipment is deployed nationally across major transport hubs, government facilities, and commercial sites, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.

With continued growth across Australia, they are now seeking experienced Electrical & Electronic Field Service Engineers to support installation, maintenance, and technical service activities across their system portfolio.

About the Role

The Field Service Engineer will play a key part in ensuring NSW customer sites operate smoothly through high-quality installation, commissioning, and ongoing service support.

You’ll be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance, system upgrades, electrical/electronic troubleshooting, and providing technical assistance to site personnel.

Most work will be based across Sydney and Greater NSW, with occasional interstate travel as required. Participation in an on-call rotation is also part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and service a range of specialised electronic systems

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and respond to urgent breakdowns

• Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, and control system faults

• Provide after-hours standby support as part of a roster

• Deliver basic operator or technical training when required

• Conduct site surveys and support project preparation activities

• Complete service reports, documentation, and compliance paperwork

• Ensure all work meets internal QA, HSE, and environmental standards

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional onsite service

• Travel predominantly across Sydney and NSW, with occasional interstate work

About You

You’re a hands-on, technically confident engineer with a strong background in electrical or electronic systems, ideally with experience working on complex equipment in field environments. You take ownership, communicate well, and prioritise safe, high-quality work.

You’ll bring:

• Minimum 2+ years in field service, maintenance, or technical support roles

• Trade or degree qualifications in electrical, electronic, or mechatronic engineering

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

• Good communication, time management, and customer-facing capability

• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

• Computer literacy and experience using diagnostic or configuration software

• Willingness to participate in an on-call roster

• Current driver’s licence

Highly regarded:

• Experience with specialised or high-reliability electronic systems & X-Ray

• Exposure to networking, control systems, or computer hardware integration

• Understanding of QA, HSE, or regulated site compliance requirements
